Open Hands Build Places to Belong
Scarcity tells us to hold tightly to what we have.
The way of Jesus invites us to live differently, with open hands.
This year, our Generosity Offering gives us the opportunity to do exactly that by helping build two playgrounds, one here on our campus and one in Uzbekistan.
In Uzbekistan!
“First inclusive playground of its kind in the country.”
In Uzbekistan, we have the opportunity to help create the first inclusive playground of its kind in the country, designed specifically to welcome children with disabilities. It will be a safe, accessible place where children can play, connect with others, grow in confidence, and experience the simple joy of belonging.
The project is being developed in partnership with the Uzbek government, which is expected to provide important infrastructure including safety surfacing, shade, accessible restroom facilities, seating, and drinking fountains. Together, this space could serve approximately 200 people at a time and become a lasting resource for children, families, and the surrounding community.
HERE AT HOME
Here at home, we will also invest in a playground in our own community, creating another place where children and families can gather, connect, and thrive.
Two playgrounds. Two communities.
One opportunity to live with open hands.
When we resist the fear that says there will never be enough, generosity becomes more than something we give. It becomes a way we live. Together, we can build spaces of joy, dignity, connection, and belonging that will impact families for years to come.
